Most workplaces have common items and places that are shared by all employees. For example, it is common to have a break room with tables, a microwave, coffee pots, water, and a refrigerator. Your company is gracious enough to provide these items to add some convenience to your break and lunch times, so it is important for everyone to clean up after themselves. When you use something, clean it after your use so that it is cleaner than you found it. This means taking a damp sponge or a Clorox wipe and wiping down the table even if you don’t think you spilled anything. Wash, dry, and put away all utensils and plates and glassware you use. Do not be the person who leaves coffee mugs, spoons, and the like in the sink for someone else (usually more junior) to clean. That is not a nice thing to do.
